ONLINE WORKSHOP “SHARING EXPERIENCES IN CONDUCTING PHARMACOLOGY & CLINICAL PHARMACY RESEARCH”

On January 15th, 2022, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) officially held the online workshop "Sharing experience in research on Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology”. The workshop took place at 6 pm, with the participation of university staff and students.

On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Establishment of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (December 25, 2002, to December 25, 2021), the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a workshop to share practical research experiences in the field of pharmacology - clinical pharmacy for staff, students, and interested scientists.

Attending the online workshop: Assoc. Prof. Duong Xuan Chu, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, CTUMP; Assoc. Prof. Pham Thanh Suol, Vice Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, CTUMP; Prof. Dyah A Perwitasari, Dean of Pharmacy Faculty, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Indonesia; Dr. Nguyen Thang, Deputy Head of Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy department, CTUMP; along with more than 160 participants who are scientists, officials and students of the University.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Xuan Chu presented the opening remarks at the workshop. Next, the speakers presented outstanding researches conducted at the department. Finally, there were detailed sharing of difficulties and ways to overcome them in the process of preparing for the study, implementing the research, and reporting the research results. Specific reports are as follows:

Pharmacist Dang Thi Ngoc Yen – A postgraduate student of Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy class 2019-2021, Can Tho Medical College lecturer –  Medication prescribing and adherence in patients with hypertension.

Pharmacist Quach Ngoc Dung - A postgraduate student of Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy class 2019-2021, a clinical pharmacist at Bac Lieu Provincial General Hospital – “Drug-related problems and their associated factors in prescribing for outpatients with diabetes and hypertension”.

Pharmacy students: Tran Thi Hong Quan and Huynh Phan Tuong Vi from Pharmacy Class 43 – “Effects of film-coated tablets containing Azadirachta indica leaf extract on lowering blood sugar level in hyperglycemic mice”.

Student Vi Tuyet Mai from Pharmacy Class 43 – “Pharmacy students and clinical pharmacy research”.

After the representations, the issues discussed made the seminar more exciting, engaging and helped clarify the implementation of clinical Pharmacology - Pharmacology research.

The workshop was concluded with the summaries and the closing session led by Prof Dyah A Perwitasari and Assoc. Prof. Pham Thanh Suol. Assoc. Prof. Pham Thanh Suol highlighted the University's research orientations in Pharmacology - Clinical Pharmacy and the assistance from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy for students who are interested in studying and publishing scientific articles in the field of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.
