Developing a professional-level English textbook in a Vietnamese medical training environment posed several challenges—from ensuring consistent academic language, accurately translating complex clinical content, to adapting for students from different cultural and healthcare backgrounds. However, this was also a valuable opportunity for faculty members to strengthen their bilingual teaching skills and enhance the university’s capacity for international-standard education.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tan (standing on the left) – Chief Editor of the textbook – expressed his sincere thanks and acknowledged the feedback from the Evaluation Committee to further revise and improve the Surgery II textbook.
Completing the Surgery II textbook marks an important milestone in the university’s journey toward international academic integration. It reflects the Department’s commitment to building a learning environment that is inclusive, equitable, and globally aligned.
Looking ahead, the Department of Orthpaedic Surgery plans to expand its English-language teaching resources, including clinical handbooks and practice guidelines. The department also aims to promote interdisciplinary teaching, evidence-based methods, and digital content, contributing to a more modern and effective medical education for both local and international students.
