CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY (CTUMP) WELCOMED AND WORKED WITH THE GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT INSTITUTE (GEI)

On 3 February 2026, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed and worked with representatives from the Global Engagement Institute (GEI) within the framework of promoting international cooperation and capacity building in higher education and multidisciplinary training.

The delegation from the Global Engagement Institute included representatives and experts specializing in international engagement, academic partnership development, and global education initiatives.

On the side of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Tan, Vice Rector of the University, together with members of the University leadership and representatives from relevant faculties, functional offices, and units responsible for international cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides presented overviews of their missions, development strategies, and core activities. Representatives of the Global Engagement Institute shared GEI’s experience in supporting universities worldwide in strengthening global engagement, developing international partnerships, enhancing faculty capacity, and promoting student mobility and global learning opportunities.

GEI and CTUMP shared experience and discussed potential collaboration

during the meeting.

 

CTUMP leaders also introduced the University’s development orientation, particularly its strategy for internationalization in education, scientific research, and clinical training, with a focus on strengthening global partnerships, improving the quality of healthcare human resources, and expanding opportunities for students and faculty members to participate in international academic activities.

Both sides discussed potential areas of cooperation, including international partnership development, capacity building for faculty and staff in global engagement, student exchange and short-term international programs, joint academic activities, and collaboration in research and training projects aligned with global health and medical education priorities.

Within the framework of the meeting, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Global Engagement Institute expressed their mutual commitment to strengthening cooperation toward sustainable and long-term development.This collaboration is expected to contribute to enhancing CTUMP’s international integration, improving the quality of education and research, and expanding global opportunities for students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals.

The meeting concluded in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, opening up new prospects for cooperation between Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Global Engagement Institute in the coming period, in line with CTUMP’s strategy for internationalization and global engagement in higher education.
