On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy organized a gathering to express New Year wishes and give lucky money to international students and those unable to return home for Tet holiday. This annual activity aims to support students from less privileged backgrounds while strengthening bonds and cultural exchange between international and local students during Viet Nam’s traditional Tet holiday
The gathering was held in a cozy and heartfelt ambiance with the participation of the University’s Rectorate Board, esteemed lecturers and 202 students. Joyful New Year wishes and bright red lucky envelopes were given out, carrying hopes for a well-being, fortunate and successful new year for everyone.
At the event, Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Trung Kien, Rector of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, shared: “Every year, as Tet comes, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy organizes this meeting to spend meaningful and warm moments with our students, especially international students and those who are unable to return home for Tet. This is an opportunity for us to express our care and support for students who cannot reunite with their families during Tet. These small gifts carry the University’s affection and encouragement, hoping to bring love and a sense of home to all of you”

Over the past academic year, the lecturers and students of the University have made continuous efforts to achieve remarkable accomplishments in academics, scientific research and extracurricular activities. The university always values and appreciates student's contributions to its overall developments.
Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy not only focuses on student support programs but also strives for internationalization, expanding educational cooperation with many nations around the world. Among these efforts, the training program for Indian students stands out as a strategic initiative, reflecting the University’s vision to enhance education quality and global integration.
In recent years, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy has welcomed Indian students through collaborative training programs. To date, the number of Indian students enrolled at the university has reached the hundreds. They are provided with the best possible conditions for learning, living and integrating into Vietnamese culture.
The University has developed an advanced curriculum aligned with international standards while continuously improving facilities and modern equipment to adapt teaching and learning demands. The team of experienced and dedicated lecturers is always ready to support and assist students throughout their academic and research journeys.
Additionally, the University organizes various extracurricular and cultural exchange activities, giving international students opportunities to explore Vietnam’s people and traditions while also sharing the beauty of Indian culture with the global community.
With the dedicated support and care of the University, along with meaningful Tet gifts, has allowed international students to experience the warm festive atmosphere, making them feel as if they were celebrating Tet in their own homeland.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy also organized a charity walk to raise funds for scholarships supporting disadvantaged students and to assist university staff and workers in difficult circumstances. The event was held under the theme “Spring Journey-Overcome Hardships Together”.
During the program, the University received donations from sponsors, partners with various organizations and individuals, raising nearly 565 million VND. Among the major contributors, the Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) donated 200 million VND, the 19th Batch Alumni Association of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy contributed 119 million VND, and SOHA Travel-International Tour & Event Company supported the fund with 20 million VND... for the scholarship fund.
After the fundraising period, the University awarded scholarships to students with financial difficulties that have demonstrated academic excellence and perseverance.
Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy currently offers 11 undergraduate programs and 90 graduate and postgraduate programs, with a total enrollment of over 16,200 students and trainees.
According to the University’s Development Plan towards 2030, the institution aims to become one of the top five health science universities in Viet Nam and rank among the top 1.000 universities in Asia. In terms of academic programs, the University will expand its scale and enhance its quality, introducing new programs in the field of health sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels with the aim of achieving 100% of programs meet quality accreditation standards, with serval obtaining AUN-QA and WFME recognition.
Additionally, the University plans to develop at least 5 high-quality training programs and international collaboration education programs. Teaching methods will be continuously, updated and improved based on competency-based learning and international standards and also refine its credit-based education model. Concurrently, the University will broaden its international cooperation network, and become a member of leading academic networks in the region and worldwide, attracting both international students and scholars.
