CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY RECEIVED AND WORED WITH EXPERTS FROM CHONNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY, SOUTH KOREA

 

On January 19, 2026, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy received and worked with experts from Chonnam National University (South Korea) within the framework of the international cooperation program between the two universities.

The delegation from Chonnam National University included:

1. Prof. Dr. Jinhyoung Cho – Head of the Office of External Relations.

2. Prof. Dr. Chungchul Roh – Director of the Office of International Relations.

3. Ms. Shinhye Kang – Manager of the Office of International Cooperation.

 

On the side of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tan – Vice Rector, along with leaders of various faculties and units, attended the meeting with the delegation.

During the meeting, leaders from both sides provided an overview of their training and scientific research activities and development orientations; they also exchanged and discussed potential areas of cooperation in the future, including student exchange programs, faculty exchange and visiting lecturer programs, participation in postgraduate training, and scientific research cooperation.

The delegation from Chonnam National University, South Korea, took a commemorative photo with the delegates from CTUMP attending the meeting.

Within the framework of the meeting, the leaders of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Chonnam National University agreed to further strengthen and expand their strategic cooperation, aiming for sustainable and long-term development, in line with the internationalization orientation of higher education at each university.

The focus of the cooperation is primarily on student exchange programs, providing opportunities for students from both universities to study, gain clinical experience, engage in academic exchange, and experience an international educational environment. Through short-term and long-term exchange programs, students will not only enhance their professional knowledge and practical skills but also develop their foreign language proficiency, global thinking, and adaptability in a multicultural environment.

 

In addition, the two universities place special emphasis on faculty exchange and visiting lecturer activities. Accordingly, faculty members from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy will have the opportunity to participate in teaching, learning, and research in postgraduate programs at Chonnam National University; at the same time, professors and experts from Chonnam National University will be invited to Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy to teach, exchange academic knowledge, supervise research, and present at scientific conferences and seminars.

Both sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in postgraduate training, especially master's, doctoral, and specialist training programs. Collaborative development of training programs, as well as sharing experiences in management and quality assurance, will contribute to improving the capacity of faculty and the quality of healthcare human resources.

Through these proposed cooperation contents, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Chonnam National University expressed their determination to strengthen their comprehensive partnership, leverage each other's strengths, contribute to improving the quality of training and scientific research, and make a positive contribution to the development of the healthcare and higher education sectors in Vietnam and Korea in the context of international integration..
