Students from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Achieved Excellent Results at the International Medical Biochemistry Competition (IMBC) 2025

The International Medical Biochemistry Competition (IMBC 2025) was held at Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy from November 6 to 9, 2025, attracting 40 teams from medical training institutions both Vietnam and international. This prestigious academic competition aims to encourage medical students to develop their professional competence, critical thinking, and passion for research in the field of medical biochemistry.

In this year’s competition, after a highly intense preliminary round with a total of 120 contestants from 40 teams, Team Ctump 3 excellently earned a spot in the semifinal round, competing with 16 outstanding teams that advanced from the qualifiers.

Four teams — VinUniversity, Hanoi Medical University, Mahidol University, and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy — competed in the final round.

Ultimately, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy was crowned the champion of IMBC 2025.

Dr. Tran Nguyen Anh Nhung, Pharm.D., lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry and the team’s faculty advisor, shared:

“IMBC is a reputable academic platform that provides opportunities for students who are passionate about Medical Biochemistry in particular, and Medicine in general, to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and strengthen their academic skills. This year’s exam questions mainly focused on clinical scenarios, ranging from basic to advanced levels, requiring contestants to possess a solid foundation in biochemistry to perform effectively.”

In addition to the academic competition, the program also featured various cultural exchange activities and learning experience sharing sessions among medical students from domestic and international universities, fostering academic collaboration, connection, and integration.
