In order to announce new scientific researches and update new knowledge and progressiveness of diagnosis and treatment for patients, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy was honored organize the International Health Sciences Conference 2019 on December 6^th, 2019.

At the principal session of this Conference, we was proud to have the attendances of over 1000 guests including delegates from Central Committee, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Departments and Units of Universities from all over Vietnam and Governments of Can Tho City and other provinces of Mekong River Delta, Southeast Region and South Central Coast of Vietnam, in addition to many international guests which are Professors, Associate Professors, PhDs and sincere experts from many countries of the world such as US, Australia, Austria, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, etc… to come and present.

At the Meeting, Assoc. Prof. NGUYEN Van Lam, the Vice Rector, made a speech to announce the achievements of CTUMP through 40 years of construction and development. Right in the first year, apart from the mission of education, our university also target in organize a wide range of activities in scientific research to improve the potential of our pedagogues in this extent. Moreover, CTUMP has been publishing Can Tho Journal of Medicine and Pharmacy 06 volumes per year and successfully hosting School Conferences in Health Sciences and Technology, National Science and Technology Conference, Mekong River Delta Conference and other different Conferences. 

With the direct aim “High specialize and dedicated service”, during the time, University Hospital continuously develops personnel’s technique, invest in high quality equipment, especially many progressive devices and machines was applied such as Gamma Knife, High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), Coronary Intervention, Cerebrovascular Intervention, Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement,  Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction, Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL), Endoscopic Surgery for Gallbladder and Thyroid Gland, etc…

At the principal session, the university organized “21^st Century Medicine and Pharmacy Forum” including 3 key reports from the first-line experts in healthcare fields. The presentations also express the mainstream of diseases in the future of Southeast Asia, the effect of climate change on human health, agriculture, food security, directly concentrate on association of doctors and nurses to take care of patients. 

At the end of the session, the Conference was taken place with 21 science halls consisting of a wide range of researched healthcare fields such as Health Strategy, Mental Health, Public Health, Family Medicine, Traumatology and Orthopedics, Odonto-Stomatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Basic Medicine, Molecular Biology, Traditional Medicine, Nursing, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Industry and Drug Quality Control, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and other majors. There are 324 oral presentations, 112 poster presentations, 19 halls certifying CME with 171 chairmen which are the first-line experts from universities, institutes, medical association, board of Health Department and 25 foreign chairmen and 73 scientific research from students, trainees and young lectures in CTUMP. Our university has also published over 1000 journals and proceedings, speeches and abstracts of articles from the Conference, certify 972 CME for chairmen and speakers and 600 CME for staff, therefore, contributing to the success of this year’s Conference.
