CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMARCY ORGANIZED THE FIRST FESTIVAL OF “CTUMP STUDENT WITH FOREIGN LANGUAGES” OF 2022

Nowadays, foreign languages play a very important role in development of countries, societies and individual students. In order to increase students’ awareness, responsibility in equipping knowledge and skills for international integration, and create a playground for students to socialize, gather and exchange experiences to raise their foreign languages ability.

Implementation of plan number 811/KH-ĐHYDCT in 06/05/2022 of the Rector of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy about organizing the first festival of “ CTUMP student with foreign language” of 2022, the university organized this event to facilitate students to be confident and proactive in using foreign languages and communicating with foreigners, create a valuable playground of activities and games in English, French and Chinese for students.

At the festival, students were very excited to have a chance to participate in games, observe, purchase merchandises made by the Foreign Language and Art Clubs, coming together to create a lively atmosphere.

At Cuu Long Hall, the festival program allowed student to immerse themselves in a meaningful multicultural environment with quizzes, presentations, and relaxing musical performances from the university clubs.

Following the Da Huong scholarship award ceremony, the university clubs presented their prepared musical shows.

Afterwards, students had a chance to hear speakers sharing their experiences with great enthusiasm.

To pave for the speeches from speakers, MSc. VO Pham Trinh Thu – Deputy Director of the Center of Foreign Languages of Can Tho University presented “The story we tell” which illustrated challenges and difficulties that herself and her colleagues faced on the way to maturity, in working and during the period of lock down, thereby, encouraging student to overcome hardship to overcome themselves.

After the speech of MSc. VO Pham Trinh Thu, PhD. LE Minh Hoang – Head of Department of Traditional Medicine, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy talked about the importance, necessity and stories about his quest to learn Chinese, especially to Traditional Medicine students and in general, all CTUMP students.

Near the end of the festival, Assoc. Prof. TRAN Thanh Ai spoke with students and lecturers in the Hall to answer questions from students about studying French.

Lastly, the long-awaited awards were given to chosen clubs, with the first Prize going to the French Club, the second Prize belonging to the Chinese Club and the third Prize for the Medical English Speaking Club.
