STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ODONTO-STOMATOLOGY WON THIRD PRIZE IN SEAADE STUDENT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMPETITION IN INDONESIA

In the light of the 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the South East Asia Association for Dental Education (SEAADE), the Student Community Engagement Competition took place in Indonesia between December 4th and 5th, 2021.
The competition
was virtually held on the Zoom Meeting platform from December 4th to
5th, 2021, with more than 30 student teams from Southeast Asian
countries. The student team of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, Can Tho
University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) included PHAN Thien Nga, NGUYEN Thi
Thuy Linh, TRAN Le Minh Khoa of the RHM45 class and TRUONG Tan Loc, TRUONG Hoan
My of the RHM46 class under the guidance of PhD. MD. DO Thi Thao, Deputy Dean
of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology, CTUMP. They participated in the contest
with the community project "The 3-month Toothbrush" about propagating
the habit of changing toothbrushes every 3 months to protect tooth health.
Students
of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy were honored to be the only
Vietnamese team to enter the final round with 10 other teams, including 5
Malaysian teams, 3 Philippines teams, 1 India team, 1 Thailand team. The
Vietnamese team went on to excellently win the third prize overall.

Although
this is the first time CTUMP student team participated in this event, they have
made great efforts and achieved high results. Participating and winning at the
contest is a great opportunity for the CTUMP students to meet and confidently
interact with international friends. CTUMP looks forward to next year's contest,
33rd SEAADE, held in Cambodia.
